George Carlin on Sports

I wanted to honor Carlin in some way on my blog, and it occurred to me, that the best way I could honor this man’s memory was to pass on the first routine of his that I recall, and the one that made me a life long fan.

I remember memorizing every line from this album, which I had on cassette, as a kid, and the sports bit, to my 10 year old self, was the greatest bit of comedy I had heard at that time.

Later on, as I grew up and learned more about the world, I respected Carlin not only for his humor, but his willingness to speak his mind, and make others think about themselves, and the world around them.

Jeff Randall is a frequent volunteer for free-thought organizations, including the Center For Inquiry – DC. Having been blogging since January 2008, he decided that a community of bloggers would be an interesting new experience (or at the very least a fun way to annoy his friends into reading his posts more frequently). Since finding out about about the existence of, and then joining, the atheist/skeptic community in 2007 he has been committed to community activism, critical thinking in all aspects of life, science, reason, and a fostering a secular society.

one of the few human beings who used most of his brain capacity and the whole of his heart to promote comedy and rationale.
RIP! the only true legend and the supreme master of the English language!

    Hear, hear, Aniche.

A true wordsmith, a master of the craft. Blessed with a lack of political correctness.
